Technical perfection, clear tone control and a passion for the essence of music are among the trademarks of Jean-Guihen Queyras. The versatile cellist presents a facet of his instrument that rarely comes to the fore, that of jazz: "Invisible Stream" outlines what connects people and music across stylistic and aesthetic-cultural boundaries. Under this title, the Canadian-born Frenchman, together with his three fellow musicians, all of whom are among the most important representatives of classical music and jazz, creates a musical feast in which a dialog between the music of Raphaël Imbert and works by Franz Schubert, Richard Wagner and Ornette Coleman unfolds across improvisations. The perfect location for this musical adventure is the St. Pauli church ruins in Dresden's Hechtviertel district, which were renovated in 2011/12 and fitted with a glass roof, and have quickly become one of the most exciting venues in Dresden - urban, atmospheric, unique.
