Description
How far would you go to live your dream? Ambitious but unsuccessful actor Michael Dorsey is on the brink of the end of his career - in the industry he is considered complicated and stubborn. When no one wants to give him a role, he resorts to a daring trick: he disguises himself as a woman, calls himself Dorothy Michaels - and overnight becomes the star of a new musical version of "Romeo and Juliet". But with success comes chaos. Between costume and corset, Michael loses himself in his double role, while Dorothy takes the audience - and her colleagues - by storm. When he finally falls in love with his stage partner Julie, the artfully spun web of lies threatens to tear apart.

The original, Sydney Pollack's legendary 1982 film, gave Dustin Hoffman one of his greatest roles and Jessica Lange the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. The musical adaptation by David Yazbek ("The Band's Visit") and Robert Horn celebrated triumphant success on Broadway in 2019, won several Tony Awards - including for Best Book of a Musical - and delighted audiences and critics alike with its humor, heart and keen powers of observation. A musical full of transformation, wit and truthfulness - and the story of a man who becomes a better person because he is a woman.
