After ten years, there wasn't a dry eye in the house in 2025, so this performance will be a joyful reunion - Yutaka Sado, the Tonkunstler's first honorary conductor, is returning! And for music by Ludwig van Beethoven: with his late-composed first symphony, he once drove a stake into music history. Not least in order to later show his political colors with the music to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's tragedy "Egmont". The music of Finnish composer Magnus Lindberg is also free from the dogmas of the avant-garde: his beguiling viola concerto, dedicated to soloist Lawrence Power, blurs the boundaries between past and present.
