FOR PRODUCTION

"Tintinnabuli, this is an amazing process - the flight into voluntary poverty: the holy men left all their wealth behind and went to the wilderness. Thus, the composer wants to leave behind the whole arsenal and save himself by the naked unanimity, having only the bare essentials - only the triad ": Thus Arvo Pärt summarized his credo. He called his compositional style "Tintinnabuli" (lat. Little bell), from which delightful polymodal harmonies arise that float between archaism and modernity. Born in Estonia in 1935, which was annexed by the Soviet Union in 1940, Pärt first had to fight for and win over his own voice, even against the regime's resistance - in 1980 he emigrated to the West. Since then, the world has been fascinated by the spiritual power of his musical language: his Stabat Mater responds to Pergolesi's work with enigmatic, auratic austerity. Three high voices, accompanied by a string trio, intone the text from the 13th century.

For Giacinto Scelsi, the human voice proved to be an ideal medium for exploring the cosmos of sound. His Three Latin Prayers refer to the homophonic vocals of the Gregorian chant and translate this into crystalline timbral refractions.
