Wonderful Town

Musical by Leonard Bernstein
In German language

Leonard Bernstein composed the musical in 1953 as a lively homage to New York. The turbulent Greenwich Village repeatedly served as inspiration for the musical universal genius. Two Ohio sisters try to find their way in the turbulent life of the "Big Apple". The younger, Eileen, is busy brushing off admirers, while the brittle Ruth tries unsuccessfully to put her literary works in a magazine. The European premiere of the play took place in 1956 at the Volksoper. Now, 100 years after the birth of Leonard Bernstein, she is presenting a new production.
