Die Fledermaus - Schedule, Program & Tickets

Die Fledermaus

Nowhere else is “Die Fledermaus” as at home as at the Vienna Volksoper. First performed in Vienna in 1874, Johann Strauss' masterpiece is considered the climax of the golden operetta era. You lie to and cheat on each other and blame alcohol for it, experience disguises, mix-ups and love affairs in waltz time: "Happy is the one who forgets" is the motto. And when, after a splendid supper at Prince Orlofsky's, the whole party meets again in prison, one is quickly reconciled, because “everything was only to blame for the champagne”.
