Heldenplatz

A continuation of the successful cooperation of the Mozarteum Foundation with the Salzburger Landestheater 2019 is on the program of the Mozart Week 2020. Just in time for Mozart's birthday, Rolando Villazón, Artistic Director of Mozartwoche, together with co-director Christina Piegger stages seven brand-new texts by international writers *Inside. The fact that world star Villazón has decided to collaborate with the Salzburg Schauspielensemble is one of the outstanding features of the evening. Ballet director Reginaldo Oliveira and members of the ballet ensemble add to the complex, Mozart-inspired encounter of the arts.

Seven internationally acclaimed authors were invited to be inspired by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Divertimenti and to write stage texts in a small form - the dramatet. For example, closely-written sheet music with divertimenti by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and blank pages for new texts by the Mexican-Canadian author Martha Bátiz, the German playwright John von Düffel, the Australian playwright Tom Holloway, the Israeli author Shlomo Moskovitz, and the Mexican poet Guadalupe Nettel , the French-Belgian playwright and film director Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt and the Mexican literary reformer Jorge Volpi.

The result can be seen (and heard): Villazón and Piegger have created a setting with the outfitter Eva Musil, in which music, the new texts and choreographed movement can meet.
