Around the birthday of the world's greatest film composer ENNIO MORRICONE on November 10th, we honor the late maestro with the announcement of a European tour: his last own concert production. This tour will be a guest in numerous European cities on December 20th, 2022 exclusively in the Wiener Stadthalle.
Immediately after retiring from the stage in 2019, Ennio Morricone began work on a new concert production that would be seen as his legacy. By mid-2020, the Maestro had completed the draft for this production, shortly after he died in Rome.
The production contains visually stunning scenes from his greatest film classics, special lighting design, and is accompanied on stage by Morricone's long-standing soloists. His son Andrea Morricone personally conducts the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and Choir.
Andrea Morricone says: "This will be a bittersweet experience for me: I miss my father very much, of course, but honoring him by conducting a full symphony orchestra and choir playing his phenomenal music will be magnificent and deeply emotional and I I'm really looking forward to celebrating him with his fans around the world."
"Ennio Morricone - The Official Concert Celebration" is not only a musical tribute but also a personal tribute to the maestro, with never-before-seen footage of the legend at work, including outtakes from interviews.
