The Estates Theatre is one of the most beautiful historic theaters in Europe. It was the enlightened aristocrat Count Franz Anton Nostitz-Rieneck, who edified it and was led by the desire to promote his hometown and maintain the German drama and Italian opera. Built in the classical style of the Prague Estates Theatre is next to the theater in Leoben in Styria the only theater of its kind in Europe, which has been preserved to the present day almost in its original state. In 1798 the Czech Estates bought the theater and since that time it was called the Royal Estates Theatre.
