Dresden Music Festival - Schedule, Program & Tickets

Dresden Music Festival

The Dresden Music Festival is one of the largest and most renowned classical music festivals in Europe and presents a top-class program of exceptional density and diversity every year between May and June. In the dialogue between the important and formative voices of the international classical music scene and the unique cultural and historical environment of its city, the festival creates exciting bridges between tradition and innovation and acts as an ambassador for a cosmopolitan and diverse coexistence.

The extraordinary density of concerts with internationally celebrated soloists and ensembles - from the New York Philharmonic to the Berlin Philharmonic, from Anne-Sophie Mutter to Daniil Trifonov - offers unique and top-class encounters during the festival period. In addition to the big classical stars, outstanding performers from jazz, rock, pop such as Eric Clapton, Gregory Porter and Jamie Cullum, as well as world music, complement the musical spectrum and offer unforgettable artistic highlights.
The range of more than twenty venues is also unique, ranging from Dresden's historical cultural monuments such as the Semper Opera, Frauenkirche, Residenzschloss or Kulturpalast to modern industrial buildings and open air, enabling the right ambience for every concert format.

Since 2012, the music festival has had its own orchestra, the Dresden Festival Orchestra, which specializes in historical performance practice with a focus on the Romantic repertoire.
