Since 5 March, there are no more access regulations (being vaccinated, recovered etc.) for attending the performance.

Masks are still recommend but not compulsory.

FFP2 masks are compulsory throughout the building, even during performances:

→ FFP2 masks are compulsory throughout the entire building (from the age of 14), this also applies during performances.
→ Children under 6 years of age do not have to wear a mask.
→ Mouth-nose protection is only compulsory for children from the age of 6.

Please note that in Vienna for the restaurants (buffets in the intervall, dinner concerts, ...) the 2G-rule (full and still valid vaccination or recovery) still applies.

The 3G rule currently applies to the "Music and Wine - Concerts" at Schönbrunn Palace, which means that you must either show the proof of vaccination or recovery or a negative test result from an official body (PCR not older than 48 hours, antigen not older than 24 hours ).

The following admission rules for events in Austria were in effect until February 19, 2022

An FFP2 mask is required for all events, including during the performance. Please read the information about the regulations (esp. concerning the validity of the certificates) carefully, if you have any questions, please ask before you book. A subsequent cancellation due to the entry conditions is not possible.

Only vaccines approved by the EMA are recognized: BioNTech / Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson or AstraZeneca

In general the second vaccination dose in Austria is only valid for 6 months, you also need a second vaccination if you have received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Vaccination

  •     - The second vaccination is valid immediately if there are at least 14 days between the first and second vaccination. The second vaccination is valid for a maximum of 6 months (7 months for everyone under the age of 18).
  •   -   If you can prove that you have had a COVID-19 infection before the vaccination, it is sufficient to prove that you have had only one vaccination dose, which must have taken place no more than 6 months previously.
  •    -  A booster vaccination is valid immediately for a maximum of 9 months, if at least 4 months have passed since the previous vaccination.

The following vaccines are approved:

    BioNTech/Pfizer

    Moderna

    AstraZeneca

    Janssen Pharmaceutica NV (= Johnson & Johnson)


Recovery

  • - Presentation of a certificate of recovery from an infection with SARS-CoV-2 in the last 6 months or presentation of a certificate of segregation..
  • - Proof of antibodies alone  is no longer valid as proof of admission.

Children and teenagers

  • - Children up to their 6th birthday do not need an admission pass.

  • - For children 6-12 years old, the following rule applies, i.e. "vaccinated" (vaccination certificate) "recovered" (recovery certificate) or "tested".

For this age group the following tests are valid: PCR test for 72 hours and antigen testing for 48 hours or the Corona Test Passport (»Ninja Pass«). This means that three tests have been carried out during the week.

  • - For children and teenagers from 12 to 15 years of age, the following rule applies, i.e. "vaccinated" (vaccination certificate) "recovered" (recovery certificate) or " PCR tested". For this age group a PCR tests apply 48 hours. The "Ninja Passport" is not considered an entry test, each PCR (school) test is valid separately.

  • - From the age of 15, the same regulations apply as to adults.

The following admission rules for events in Austria have been in effect since December 27, 2021 until February 04, 2022

1000 to 2000 visitors - 1G-Booster-Plus rule (e.g. State Opera, some concerts in the Musikverein Großer Saal and Konzerthaus Großer Saal)
Proof of complete vaccination including booster vaccination (vaccinated 3 times) or proof of recovery and 2 additional vaccinations
In addition, a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours



•    3x vaccinated (BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson Janssen Pharmaceutica NV) and negative PCR-test, not older than 48h
•    recovered + 2x vaccinated and negative PCR test, not older than 48h
A pure proof of »recovered« without additional vaccination is no longer considered as an entry qualification.

Definition of »vaccinated«:
1. presentation of a vaccination certificate or an international vaccination certificate (according to Art. 36 of the International Health Regulations (2005), Federal Law Gazette III No. 98/2008 as amended by Federal Law Gazette III No. 182/2016, in which one of the vaccinations mentioned below is registered) concerning a vaccination against COVID-19 administered with a centrally licensed vaccine:
•    Third vaccination, with no more than 270 days between the first and second vaccinations and at least 120 days between the second and third vaccinations.
•    For persons who have already recovered, there must be at least 120 days between the first and second vaccinations
The following vaccines are approved:
•    BioNTech/Pfizer
•    Moderna
•    AstraZeneca
•    Janssen Pharmaceutica NV (= Johnson & Johnson)

Definition of »recovered«:
1. presentation of a certificate of recovery concerning an infection with SARS-CoV-2 that has been survived in the last 180 days.
2. presentation of a certificate of segregation if issued to a person confirmed to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 within the last 180 days.
(Evidence of neutralising antibodies is no longer valid from 8 November 2021).

PCR test
The PCR test must not be older than 48 hours at the end of the performance. The time at which the sample was taken applies, not when the result is received.

Proof of full vaccination or proof of recovery
In addition, a negative PCR test not older than 48 hours


 

The following applies to vaccinated people:

  • For vaccines with 2 partial vaccinations:

After the 2nd vaccination, the vaccination certificate is valid for 180 days.

  • Vaccines with one vaccination (for example Johnson & Johnson)


    From the 22nd day after the vaccination, the vaccination certificate is valid for 180 days. This applies up to and including January 2, 2022, by then at the latest the booster vaccination must have taken place.
    After a further vaccination (booster vaccination), the vaccination certificate is valid for 270 days.


The following applies to those who have recovered:

    From the time of recovery, you are exempt from the test requirement for 180 days. The separation notice or a certificate are valid.
    For people who have already recovered and who have been vaccinated once, the vaccination is valid for 180 days from the day of vaccination.
    Those who have recovered and are fully immunized are treated as triple vaccines. The corona infection must not be more than 180 days ago
