With musical perfection, the internationally renowned, 40-piece Vienna Hofburg Orchestra, together with six vocal soloists and ballet in the historic halls of the Vienna Hofburg, in the Vienna Konzerthaus and in the Liechtenstein Garden Palace, presents a selection of the most famous melodies of the waltz and operetta music by Waltz King Johann Strauss, Franz Léhar, opera arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and selected masterpieces of the Viennese classic.
Under the direction of the conductor Gert Hofbauer, the best musicians from all of Vienna's major orchestral associations formed the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra in 1971-1975. Rich in nuances and with lots of charm, Gert Hofbauer made the Hofburg Orchestra one of the best orchestras in Vienna today.
